Admission and pre-departure


Congratulations on your offer to Durham College. You are about to embark on an exciting adventure that will bring you an education far beyond what will be taught in your classroom.

Here are some helpful tips and hits to ensure a smooth transition to Canada and Durham College.

Accept your offer and pay your tuition fees

If your application is successful, your letter of acceptance will be available to view and print from your self-serve application portal.

  • Accept your offer by confirming through your portal.
  • Pay your tuition fee, indicated on your invoice on page 2, by the deadline date.
  • Durham College will issue an official fee receipt once the confirmation and fee payment has been received. This fee receipt should be included with your study permit application.
  • If you plan to live in an on-campus residence, you must apply by May 31 each year.

Checklist of things to do before arriving

  • Confirm your acceptance and submit your fee payment through your self-serve MyCampus online portal.
  • Apply for the necessary documentation from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
  • Notify us at confirmationinternational@durhamcollege.ca once you have received your study permit confirmation.
  • Watch your email for important information regarding arrival services.
  • Select your course timetable.
  • Book your plane ticket to Toronto.
  • Submit your arrival services form indicating airport pickup and short-term accommodation.
  • Book your accommodation.
  • Register for the International Welcome Orientation session.
  • Connect with other students on our Facebook page.

Select your course timetable

You will get to select your block timetable once you have confirmed your offer and paid your tuition fees. You may have a mix of lectures, workshops and field placements. View our sample timetable to see an example of what you can expect as a student studying Biomedical Engineering Technology at Durham College. Each timetable will be different depending on what you are studying and what you like to do in your free time.

Arrival Services

Starting with the moment you step off the plane, we are here to guide you through your new education experience. Our College’s mission is the student experience comes first and we take that mission to heart. Our arrival services include:

  • Free airport pick up
  • Assistance with finding temporary accommodation
  • Free assistance with finding long-term accommodation
  • Comprehensive and fun International Student Orientation program


So you’ve made the decision to study at DC and now you need to decide where to live. There are numerous options available to students both on- and off-campus to suit a range of budgets and lifestyles.

Accommodation is guaranteed in the Simcoe or South Village residences at our Oshawa campus if you meet the deadlines for accepting our offer of admission and applying to residence.

South Village residence

The South Village residence features a cafeteria, study and recreation areas and furnished, two-bedroom private suites.

Simcoe Village residence

The Simcoe Village residence offers a choice between furnished double rooms that are semi-divided for privacy or furnished suites with two private bedrooms.

Suites in both South and Simcoe residences include cable television, a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, internet access, telephone and three-piece bathroom.

Accommodation is guaranteed in the Simcoe or South Village residences at our Oshawa campus if you meet the deadlines for accepting our offer of admission and applying to residence.

West Village residence

We also offer the West Village residence, featuring beautiful, apartment-style suites designed for students in their upper years of study. This residence offers controlled access, on-site management, security, on-site laundry, individually controlled air conditioning/heating and many social areas. Three- and six-bedroom units are available and both including appliances, parking, networked Internet and large bedrooms with spacious closets.

Off-campus residence

If you would prefer to live off campus, we can provide you with assistance with finding homestay, off-campus residence or shared housing. A pre-departure kit will be sent to you after you have accepted your offer of admission outlining how to arrange for off-campus accommodations.
